Home Invasion Reported in Mountain View

An elderly Mountain View man and his caregiver are recovering from a violent crime they suffered Tuesday morning.

Police say around 9 a.m. a masked gunman entered a home on the 1300 block of Phyllis Avenue in Mountain View and tied up an elderly man and a female caregiver.

The robber burglarized the home and and then ran away.

After that, one of the victims was able to free themselves enough to call 911.  When police arrived, they said both victims were still bound.  The man had cuts on his face after being struck by the robber.

He was taken to local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives say they are working to figure out what, if anything was taken from the home.

They do not have any suspects or a motive for the attack.
