Hunky Jesus Pageant Returns

Do-over of Easter institution rescheduled to April 19.

If it rained on your parade on Easter Sunday, perhaps you were in Dolores Park for the aborted annual Hunky Jesus pageant in San Francisco, which was called off on account of rain.

But fear not: this force of nature is coming back -- and this time, it's indoors.

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence -- the makeup-and-habit-clad do-gooders who put on the annual Jesus show for charity -- are hosting a do-over of the annual Hunky Jesus Pageant on April 19 at the DNA Lounge, according to SF Weekly.

The action goes down from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on April 19, with advance tickets onsale at dnalounge.com.

Tickets are on a sliding scale of $8 to $17 advance, or $10 to $20 the night of.

No one turned away for lack of funds -- or crowns of thorns.

For the uninitiated, the pageant consists of a parade of would-be Jesuses strutting their stuff. And the hunkiest is -- you guessed it -- crowned Hunky Jesus. Usually.
