I-280 Wrong-Way Crash Leaves 1 Dead

All lanes of southbound Interstate 280 in Los Altos Hills are back open after a deadly crash involving a wrong-way driver, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened just before 1 a.m. Thursday morning near the Page Mill Road off-ramp.

Investigators said the driver of a car got on the freeway heading north – in the southbound lanes – and hit another car.

Two people were taken to the hospital. One later died. It's not clear which driver was killed.

All lanes were reported closed at 1:30 a.m. in order to clean up debris from the collision, according to the CHP.

Parts of the roadway were reopened at 2:08 a.m., while some lanes remained closed for clean-up.
