Teen Killed by Train in Palo Alto

It happened again.

A Caltrain struck and killed a teenager Friday night in Palo Alto at the same spot where four Gunn High School students have committed suicide in the past year.

His mother told the San Jose Mercury News that she thinks he committed suicide.

Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn said the victim, Brian Taylor, was hit by a train around 11:45 p.m. Friday.

Taylor, 19, was a 2008 Gunn graduate and his mother told the paper he was being treated for bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

Back in December, city leaders in Palo Alto hired private security guards to monitor the crossing, and residents were also keeping watch.

In the last year three Gunn students as well as an incoming freshman all died on the tracks after being hit by trains.
