Jennifer and Gavin Hold Open House

Mr. and Mrs. Newsom invite everyone over

On his way out the door, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom is opening the door to City Hall to the public.

City Hall will hold its first-ever holiday open house this Sunday.  It's a free event, but guests are asked to bring something for the city's food drive.

In a written statement, Newsom said he and his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, wanted "to invite families from across the city to join us at City Hall in honor of the  season at our Holiday Open House."

The open house hours are from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

You can check out the decorations and grab a cookie and some cocoa.  You can also shake hands with the outgoing mayor. Newsom says supervisors and other elected officials will be there as well for the meet and greet.

Sunday's event sound very kid friendly.  Outside in Civic Center Plaza, children will be treated to a snow  park from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  A mobile zoo will drop by from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
