Joe Biden in San Francisco to Raise Funds for DNC

Vice President Joe Biden will drum up money and support at two private events Wednesday in San Francisco to benefit the Democratic National Committee, according to the White House.

The first will be a reception for the DNC at an undisclosed private residence at 4:45 p.m., followed by an event at the Fairmont San Francisco hotel at 950 Mason St. at 6:15 p.m.

Biden will arrive sometime Wednesday afternoon after giving the commencement address at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Wednesday morning.

The vice president last visited San Francisco in June 2013 for a Democratic Party fundraiser at the home of Dawn Ross and Doug Hickey, CEO of the San Francisco-based beverage distribution company BinWise.

President Barack Obama visited the Bay Area earlier this month for two fundraisers in San Jose and Los Altos. He also gave a speech on energy efficiency at a Walmart in Mountain View.

Biden has no public appearances scheduled for his San Francisco trip.
