Two Morgan Hill residents are in police custody after allegedly kidnapping a handyman as part of a "months-old dispute over home appliance repair," according to reports.
Jason DeJesus, 36, and Chanelle Troedson, 33, were charged with false imprisonment, kidnapping, assault, criminal threats and conspiracy for allegedly forcing a 50-year old handyman to do work for free as part of a dispute over a prior project, the San Jose Mercury News reported.
The victim was lured to a home in Morgan Hill where the pair "attacked him," the newspaper reported. The handyman was then taken to a second location, where the couple demanded he do work under threat of death, police said.
The handyman and his captors then left for a third location, but when the pair were at a San Jose gas station grabbing snacks, he fled and contacted police, the newspaper reported.
