Kids Create LEGO Robots To Solve World Problems

Children from over 40 countries competed in SF

The Randall Museum in San Francisco hosted kids from 40 countries with the LEGO robots they've created to compete in an international science competition.

The LEGO League Robotic Challenge Qualifying Tournament is an annual competition that challenges teams of 9 to 14-year-old kids to seek creative, technological and scientific ways to engage robots in solving real-world problems.

LEGO partners with the Randall Museum and with For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, a nonprofit promoting science and technology education and careers to kids through programs and friendly competition.

The robots designed and constructed during an eight-week period by this year's young competitors feature LEGO "Mindstorms" robotic elements and special LEGO materials.
