Kids Help Pull Off Castro Valley Burglary: Alameda County Sheriff

A woman and two children entered the victim’s home as a man distracted the resident, authorities said.

Authorities in the East Bay are looking for two adults and two children accused of pulling off at least one burglary.

The Alameda County Sheriff's Office released surveillance images Wednesday of a crime that happened Dec. 16 near Sabina Court and John Drive in Castro Valley. A man distracted the homeowner "with a ruse," while a woman and the two kids went inside the house and stole several items, according to the sheriff.

There have been several similar burglaries in recent weeks, authorities said, with similar suspects.

Investigators describe the suspects' vehicle as silver 2014 Dodge Ram Pickup with California license plate number 01750S1. "The truck has chrome tubular side-steps and a tarp covering the bed," the sheriff's office noted in a press release.

Anyone who can provide information that might help investigators is asked to contact the Alameda County Sheriff's Office at (510) 667-7721.
