KitTea, San Francisco Cat Cafe, Secures 17 Adoptions in First Month

San Francisco's new KitTea Cafe is purring along nicely after a successful first month of business.

The city's first combination Japanese tea parlor and feline adoption center adopted out 17 cats since opening on June 22, Hoodline reports.

The business model is working on both sides of the Bay.

Oakland's Cat Town Cafe and Adoption Center adopted out 184 cats in the first seven months of business, which brought the euthanasia rate at partner organization Oakland Animal Services down from 41 to 21 percent.
