Korean Meat Farm Dogs Up for Adoption in San Francisco

Two dogs rescued from a Korean meat farm last week had a chance on Friday for a much brighter fate: Molly and Masha were the first  two of 57 dogs and puppies to go up for adoption.

Masha is currently pending an adoption and Molly was adopted today. In fact, Molly's new owner waited for four hours outside of the SF SPCA to make sure she was able to take this cute pooch home.

Molly is a 3-month old female, Korean Jindo mix who is looking for a home “with snuggles and lots of playtime,” according to the San Francisco SPCA, which is sponsoring the adoptions.

Masha is a 3-year old female Shiba Inu mix who is a little shy at first, very active and “ready to start her new life in America,” the SPCA said.

The pups go up for adoption at 1 p.m. at the Mission Campus Adoption Center in San Francisco.

Molly, Masha and 55 other dogs came to the United States on Mar. 19 from what SPCA described as “horrific conditions and certain death” at a meat farm outside of Seoul.

The SPCA along with shelters in Marin, the East Bay, and Sacramento have partnered with Humane Society International to care for these dogs and give them new lives.

Some of these pups still need medical attention and are not ready for their forever homes yet.
