Police Identify Teenager Killed in Late Night Shooting in Hayward

    An 18-year-old man is dead after a shooting in Hayward late Friday night, according to police.

    Police said officers responded at 10:53 p.m. to a report of shots fired near West Jackson Street and Cypress Avenue.

    Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle on the nearby 26000 block of Gading Road, according to police. Inside the vehicle, officers found a man, identified as Rogelio Torres II of Hayward, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

    Officers attempted lifesaving measures on the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

    There are no suspects in custody and a description of the suspects was not available, police said.

    Friday's homicide is the sixth in Hayward this year, police said.
