Local Online Textbook Company Partners With Bookstores

Santa Clara company Chegg Inc. which provides college texts online, announced Wednesday that they are partnering with the Independent College Bookstore Association, says Biz Journals.

The partnership means the 144 college bookstores that belong to the association will provide low-cost texts on the website, and Chegg will in turn, provide free membership for schools in the association, and provide marketing material for those bookstores.

"Our partnership with the ICBA helps Chegg expand our textbook rentals to college bookstores nationwide," Nathan Schultz, vice president of content management at Chegg, said in a statement. "The ICBA stores we currently work with have been real innovators sharing a vision of providing students with the resources they need to be successful while saving them both time and money as well as building affinity with their campus bookstore."

Some of those schools included in the association are San Jose State University, De Anza College in Cupertino, Foothill College in Los Altos Hills and the College of San Mateo.
