The Loma Fire burning in the Santa Cruz Mountains south of San Jose is now 100 percent contained, according to Cal Fire.

The fire, which started Sept. 26, has scorched nearly 4,500 acres and destroyed 12 homes.

Fire crews will remain on the scene in the coming weeks, extinguishing hot spots and performing general cleanup and patrol.

The cause of the blaze is not known and is under investigation, Cal Fire said.
