Los Gatos Restaurant Manresa Joins International Chef Swap

A leading international chef will prepare a secret dinner at Manresa in Los Gatos on July 9.

It's part of a coordinated world event called The Grand Gelinaz! Shuffle, where 36 acclaimed chefs will swap kitchens for one night only. Diners will not know who made their meal until it has concluded.

Manresa chef/owner David Kinch will cook dinner at an unknown restaurant somewhere in the world on the same evening.

Other participating chefs include Rene Redzepi, whose Copenhagen eatery Noma consistently tops global restaurant lists; French luminary Alain Ducasse, who owns acclaimed restaurants on several continents, and Danny Bowien, the former Bay Area chef now running the San Francisco-inspired Mission Chinese Food and Mission Cantina restaurants in New York.

Pre-paid tickets for tables for two for the Manresa dinner, are available on Ticketmaster's Belgian website. The price per person is 260 Euros, or about $294.

Meanwhile, there's been a significant departure at the restaurant. Inside Scoop reported Friday that chef de cuisine Jessica Largey, who was recently given the Rising Star Chef honor at the James Beard Awards, has left Manresa.
