The San Francisco medical examiner was called to the Balboa Park station Wednesday afternoon after a person was reported under a train, according to a BART spokesperson.
Trains are single-tracking through the Balboa Park station while officials respond to the incident, which was reported at 4:35 p.m., BART spokesman Jim Allison said.
East Bay trains were being given priority but all trains were traveling through the Balboa Park station without stopping, Allison said. The station reopened around 6:30 p.m.
BART was experiencing major delays on all lines that pass through San Francisco as a result of the incident.
Allison said no information is available yet on the individual reported under the train.
