BART experienced delays in all directions from Bay Fair station Wednesday afternoon because of a major medical emergency, BART officials said.

A person was injured after accidentally stepping in front of a train, BART officials said. The person was taken to a hospital.

The station closed at about 4:20 p.m., and trains were single tracking through the station.

It reopened just before 5 p.m., but the system continued experiencing residual delays, according to BART.
