Man Arrested After Jumping on BART Trains, Tracks

After nearly two hours of jumping on and off trains and tracks an Oakland BART station, police arrested a man Thursday morning.

BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost said the man was arrested about 7:15 a.m. For nearly two hours before that, witnesses saw the man standing on top of the MacArthur BART station in Oakland, and jumping onto Interstate Higway 980, forcing the California Highway Patrol to temporarily close two lands.

BART ended up turning off the electricity to the trains in the area, because the man had been running around on them. Finally, BART police were able to detain him, but not without major train delays.
