Man Arrested on Suspicion of Gunning Down Wife in San Jose Home: Police

A San Jose man is behind bars on suspicion of gunning down his wife early Saturday, police said.

Officers responded at 12:46 a.m. to a house on the 1700 block of Indigo Oak Lane on a report of a person shot.

Inside, they located a woman suffering from at least one gunshot wound, police said. Although transported to an area hospital, the victim succumbed to her injuries, police said. 

The suspect has been identified as 63-year-old James Nallan while the victim is his wife Sonia Nallan, 48, according to police.

An investigation into the motive behind the shooting is ongoing, but police do not believe there are any outstanding suspects. 

James Nallan is in custody at the Santa Clara County Jail. Information about his attorney or bail were not immediately available.
