A man was killed early Saturday on Interstate Highway 880 in Fremont, the California Highway Patrol said.
The collision, which occurred on the highway near the Auto Mall Parkway off-ramp, was first reported at 2:10 a.m.
Three cars were involved in the collision, CHP officers said, adding that investigators are trying to determine if alcohol played a role in the crash.
The CHP issued a Sig-alert after the accident, but all lanes have since been reopened.
