Police identified the man who died after colliding with a para-transit van Saturday afternoon along I-580 in San Leandro.
Police said, George Lopez Jr., 51, from Stockton died after the motorcycle he was riding on crashed into the van driven by Eddie Hall, 31, of Oakland.
Hall was arrested after the incident on suspicion of murder and felony hit-an-run. Police said he dragged Lopez's motorcycle for a mile after the two collided.
The deadly crash shut down eastbound Interstate 580 in San Leandro for ten hours Saturday night.
The CHP said the drivers appear to be involved in some kind of road rage incident prior to the collision.
The paratransit van did not have any passengers. Hall was arrested after attempting to run away from the scene, according to police.
The cyclist is believed to be a member of the Hells Angels gang. The group who was riding alongside him was wearing Hells Angels jackets, according to witnesses.
