Man Reportedly Falls Off Cliff in Bodega Bay

Search and rescue crews scoured the waters off of Bodega Head in Bodega Bay Saturday night for a 22-year-old man reported to have fallen from a cliff into the bay, according to a U.S. Coast Guard officer.

Search and rescue crews scoured the waters off of Bodega Head in Bodega Bay Saturday night for a 22-year-old man reported to have fallen from a cliff into the bay, according to a U.S. Coast Guard officer.

The accident was reported around 5:45 p.m. Saturday about 20 feet from Bodega Head, Coast Guard Petty Officer Roybal said this morning.

Crews from the Coast Guard and the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office searched for the man by boat and helicopter but were unable to locate him, Roybal said.

The man was standing on a cliff overlooking the bay with a friend when the fall occurred, according to the Coast Guard.

Sonoma County Sheriff's deputies continue to investigate the incident.
