Man Robs Jack in the Box at Gunpoint

The man pointed a gun at an employee at a San Leandro Jack in the Box, then jumped over the counter, grabbed the money and ran out the back door.

San Leandro police are searching for an armed man who robbed a Jack in the Box at gunpoint, escaping with the proceeds from a cash register.

The suspect entered the restaurant at 15205 Hesperian Blvd. around 8:45 p.m. Thursday, armed with a black semi-automatic handgun, said Lt. Jeff Tudor.

He pointed the gun at an employee and demanded that they open the cash register drawer. He then jumped over the counter, grabbed the money and ran out the rear door, Tudor said.

A search of the area failed to locate the suspect.

He was described as a black male in his late 20s to mid 30s, 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, black ski mask and black pants.
