Man Shot, Killed in Fillmore District of SF

Shooting is the second homicide in San Francisco this year

A man was shot and killed while driving near Fillmore and Geary Streets in San Francisco Saturday evening, according to police.

The victim, a 26-year-old male, was driving a black four-door vehicle in the area of Fillmore and Geary around 5:30 p.m. when a suspect fired multiple shots at him, according to Officer Gordon Shyy.

The victim's car crashed into a parked vehicle, and the suspect ran to a white or silver vehicle and fled the area, Shyy said.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 6:15 p.m.

The shooting investigation affected pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the area of Fillmore and Post streets, Shyy said.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call San Francisco police at (415) 575-4444.
