The Alameda County Coroner's bureau was requested at the scene of a fatality in Hayward early Saturday morning, according to bureau officials.
Hayward police officers were dispatched to the 27000 block of Belvedere Court at around 2:08 a.m. for a man who was reportedly shot.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a man lying on the ground suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, police said.
The coroner was called in at around 6 a.m. The victim’s identity is being withheld, as of Saturday afternoon, by the coroner’s office.
