Man Suffers Life-Threatening Wounds in Early Morning Shooting in San Jose

A man, who suffered life-threatening injuries when he was shot early Saturday morning near a San Jose business park, is now fighting for his life, police said.

Around 4:15 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting on the 1400 block of Koll Circle, police said.

Upon arrival, officers learned a man had been taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds, according to police. Video from the scene showed blood stains on a white car, which was cordoned off by crime tape.

Police are still investigating whether the man was shot at a possible underground nightclub, but confirmed that the crime occurred during some kind of party.

A business owner told NBC Bay Area that he saw a lot of young people dancing in suite No. 107 and partying in the parking lot outside the industrial complex. Mehmet Yilmaz, of Stonehub Design Center, said he saw such activity only on Friday and Saturday night, not during the week.

"When I came here, there were tons of cars, like 25 to 30 cars," he said. "And a lot of young girls and guys, but most of the girls were between 18 to 21 years old. I was so surprised, I said, 'What's going on here?' They were drinking and just hanging out here."

Police are continuing to investigate what led up to the shooting but have not yet confirmed a motive or identified any suspects.

People with information are asked to call 911 or the police department's anonymous Crime Stoppers line at (408) 947-7867.
