Man, Woman in Critical Condition After 2 Separate Richmond Shootings

    Two people are in critical condition after two separate shootings occurred Saturday in Richmond.
    At 2:47 p.m. police and California Highway Patrol officers responded to a report of a collision on westbound Interstate Highway 580 near Regatta Boulevard, according to police.

    When they arrived officers found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he remains in critical condition, police said.

    No suspects have been identified in that incident.

    At 6:10 p.m. officers responded to a report of a second shooting and a collision in the 2200 block of Cutting Boulevard, according to police.

    When officers arrived they found a 52-year-old Berkeley woman who had been struck by gun gunfire as she was driving, causing her vehicle to collide with another vehicle, police said.

    The victim was taken to a hospital, where she remains in critical condition, according to police.

    Witnesses told police they saw a man running south on South 22nd Street, police said.

    Investigators have not been able to connect the two shootings, according to police.
