Margaret Cho is set to preview "#BeRobin: The Movie," her documentary about helping San Francisco's homeless population.
The Kurt Weitzmann-directed film, still a work in progress, will be screened on Friday at Second Act Marketplace in San Francisco. Tickets run from $10-50 and proceeds will help Cho finish the production.
Weitzmann has also set up an Indiegogo campaign in order to raise funds; as of this writing, it has raised $3,856 towards an $11,000 goal.
The comedian, actress, singer and SF native arrived at the corner of Haight and Ashbury streets on Nov. 17 to begin a daily, two-month commitment to busk on the streets to raise money for the city's homeless population.
Cho set out a guitar case with a handwritten sign that says, "If you have, give; if you need, take (please remember your fellow man)."
"We have a small amplification system and big hearts," Cho wrote on her Facebook page when she started the campaign last November. "The homeless problem in SF is out of control and this is the least we can do."
The campaign later became known as #BeRobin, a reference to the kindness of the late Robin Williams.
