Marin County Rated One of Nation's Worst Places to Own Home

When it comes to natural disasters, one Bay Area county stands out as being one of the worst places to own a home.

The Weather Channel's Weather.com website ranked Marin County No. 17 in the country because of its risks of earthquakes, floods and wildfires.

The site made the determination after looking at data from FEMA and other national agencies.

Four other counties in California made the list: Kern, Santa Barbara, San Diego, and Siskiyou.

The worst place to own a home went to Orleans Parish, Louisiana, which was hit hard by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
