Marin County Up-Skirt Peeper Takes Plea Deal

The next time you see a person placing his or her shoe underneath someone's skirt for a few seconds before walking away, consider the tale of the Marin County farmers market peeping Tom. You may also want to consider wearing jeans the next time you go to buy organic beets.

Police in Marin say that 26-year old Nicholas Charles Springer of San Rafael attached a camera to his shoe, with which he captured images looking up women's skirts, the SF Examiner reports. He was arrested in May at the Fairfax Farmers Market when an officer allegedly caught him in the act.

He was also accused of doing the same routine on two skirt-wearing women at the Marin Civic Center Farmers Market.

He will serve 20 days in jail after pleading guilty to a loitering charge Thursday. Prosecutors dropped three misdemeanor counts of secretly videotaping under or through clothing as part of the deal.

Yes, such offenses are on the statutes. Who knew?
