Masked Man Allegedly Fired Shots at Group of People in Solano Town Center Mall: Police

Police are investigating a shooting incident in which a person wearing a mask allegedly fired shots at a group of people at a Fairfield shopping center Saturday evening.

At 7:48 p.m., officers received a report of a masked-man carrying a gun at the Solano Town Center Mall, located at 1350 Travis Blvd., according to police.

Officers learned the suspect may have fired shots at people inside the food court area, police said.

Responding officers were unable to immediately locate a suspect. However, three people tried to run away while officers searched the area, according to police.

Officers were able to detain and transport the trio to the police department's Major Crimes Unit for questioning to determine if they were involved in the alleged shooting, police said.

A fourth person was also detained and booked into the Solano County Jail in connection with an unrelated incident, according to police.

The alleged shooting was not a random act, police say, but stemmed from some sort of altercation between two groups of people.

No injuries were reported, according to police.
