Menlo Park Man Wanted in Merced County Homicide

One murder suspect is behind bars, but a second suspect is still on the loose.

Menlo Park investigators are looking for Jose Hernandez. They say he is connected to a murder in Merced County and believe he could still be on the Peninsula.

Officers arrested Victor Hernandez, 24, on Thursday at a home on Newbridge Street near a Boys and Girls Club after spotting a car believed to be connected to the crime.

After conducting a traffic stop, detectives used a warrant check to confirm that Victor Hernandez was wanted for homicide and took him into custody, police said. He was later transported to the Merced County Jail.

Jose Hernandez, 26, was still at large as of Friday afternoon.
