Mexican Restaurant in San Jose Closed After Kitchen Fire

A Mexican restaurant in San Jose has been closed indefinitely after a small kitchen fire Saturday afternoon, a fire captain said.

Fire crews responded to a report of a fire at Guadalajara Restaurant at 452 E. Empire St. near North 10th Street around 2:50 p.m., San Jose fire Capt. Reggie Williams said.

The blaze started in the kitchen and extended to the roof before it was extinguished by 3:20 p.m., he said.

The restaurant's owner and servers were inside the business at the time of the fire however no injuries were reported, Williams said.

The blaze caused "significant damage" and the restaurant has been closed for repairs and inspection, according to Williams.
