Authorities are searching for a minimum-security inmate who walked away from a camp in Nevada County today, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Staff at the Washington Ridge Conservation Camp discovered Justin Tyquiengco was missing around 5:30 a.m. during an inmate count. He was last seen at the 3:30 a.m. count.
Sgt. Ray Kelly of the Alameda County Sheriff's Office said the prisoner is possibly in route to Alameda County.
Tyquiengco is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 174 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair.
He was first committed to the state prison system in September 2015 with a six-year sentence for second-degree robbery with the use of a firearm. He received an additional sentence in Alameda County to serve one year after his primary sentence from Contra Costa County.
Anyone who sees Tyquiengco should contact 911 or law enforcement authorities immediately. Anyone with information on his whereabouts can call a watch commander at (530) 257-2181, ext. 4173.
There are currently 3,700 inmates around the state at conservation camps, also known as fire camps, according to state corrections officials.
