A new crosswalk in Morgan Hill is receiving mixed reviews from residents.
The City of Morgan Hill unveiled the colorful crosswalk Feb. 1 at the intersection of Monterey Road and Dunne Avenue.
Some residents have said on social media they don’t like the design and that it can be slippery. Yet others believe the walkway beautifies the city.
"It takes it from nothing, blab, to something," said Mike Beasley, Morgan Hill resident. "You know it may not have been exactly what I would have painted but it makes it look better."
The City of Morgan Hill says the playful crosswalk is made from a material that shouldn't get slippery in the rain.
According to the city, the artistic walkway was funded by the Play 60, Play One initiative to transform everyday spaces into places for play.
