Marin County supervisors are embracing a plan to install 100 cameras to photograph animals in the Marin’s open space preserves.
According to the Marin Independent Journal, the animal study will be a collaboration of Marin Municipal Water District, the National Park Service and California state Park.
City officials would install 100 motion-sensitive “Bushnell” cameras in open space and watershed locations to take photos of wildlife day and night.
The county board has distributed $40,000 to cover county expenses.
County officials hope the cameras will help them get a better idea of wildlife hot spots and habitat relationships.
