Mountain Lion Caught on Cam in Millbrae Near Koi Pond

A homeowner captured early Friday morning what appears to be a mountain lion on a backyard porch in Millbrae, which jumped over a six-foot fence near a koi pond, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

At about 2 a.m. , the homeowner in the 1200 block of Encina Drive caught the large cat on video, which the sheriff’s office shared with NBC Bay Area.

No one was injured, and the animal was last seen heading east.

To avoid being harmed by a mountain lion, the sheriff’s department advises not jogging when mountain lions are most active—dawn, dusk, and at night, and keeping a close eye on children.  If you encounter a mountain lion, do not run; instead, face the animal, make noise and try to look bigger by waving your arms; throw rocks or other objects.
