Mountain Lion Sighting Reported in San Mateo County

A mountain lion sighting was reported in Woodside on Wednesday night, according to San Mateo County sheriff's officials.

The sighting was reported at about 10:30 p.m. in the area of Kings Mountain and Woodside roads, according to the sheriff's office.

Anyone who sees a mountain lion is urged not to approach it, especially if the animal is feeding or with offspring.

Officials are encouraging the public to avoid hiking or jogging when mountain lions are most active —dawn, dusk, and at night.
