Mt. View Police Use Pinterest For Lost and Found

A Bay Area police department has come up with a unique way to use social media to reunite people with lost or stolen property.

Mountain View police introduced its "lost and found" page on Pinterest this week. Police said a majority of items on the page are bikes.  They say they have a much better chance of reuniting owners with the property through pictures.

See page here.

"The unique thing about Pinterest is that because it is photobased we're able to show people property. If we show them the 10 speed bike and they can identify it, it makes it much easier," Lt. Chris Hsiung said.

If you think you have an item on the Mt. View police Pinterest page, contact their property evidence technician and be prepared to show ID and other proof the item is yours.
