NASA Astronomer Searching for Aliens at UC Berkeley Finds Burglary Suspects Instead

A Northern California scientist on a late-night search for alien life found burglary suspects instead.

The Oakland Tribune reported Monday that NASA scientist Howard Isaacson was leaving his University of California, Berkeley lab late on Feb. 18 when he encountered two strange men roaming a secured hallway.

Isaacson works with a newly established Berkeley team tasked with searching for alien life and new planets.

Isaacson called campus police who arrested two men — 36-year-old Bradley Vincent and 27-year-old Jared Starkweather — on suspicion of burglary.

Police allegedly found UC Berkeley astronomy text books in one suspect's car.

It wasn't immediately clear if Vincent and Starkweather had retained attorneys.
