Naked Man Killed By Vallejo Police Identified

A bizarre rampage ended with police shooting one man and arresting another.

The man shot and killed by Vallejo police for sticking a loaded rifle in another officer's stomach -- all while naked, while his house was on fire -- was identified Monday.

Jeremiah Moore 29, was killed and his partner, Jason Jessie, 28, was arrested early Sunday after the pair were reported to police for running around naked, breaking windows, and trying to burn down their home in the 2500 block of Alameda Street, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Officers showed up at 1:30 a.m. Sunday to see one naked man run into the home, which was filling with smoke. Moore then emerged from the home and put the barrel of a rifle in an officer's stomach. He was shot by police and later died.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and police found three "pet birds that had been beheaded in the backyard," the newspaper reported.

Jessie is in Solano County Jail on $10,000 bail.

Neighbors say that Jessie was off of his medications for mental illness.
