Netflix Launches App for PlayStation Vita

New app will allow users to navigate via buttons or a touchsreen.

Sony's encore to the PlayStation Portable was given a limited release in North America Wednesday and video-streaming company Netflix wants gamers to know it is ready to for the launch.

The Los Gatos-based company announced that it has an app ready to stream movies on the PlayStation Vita from day one.

"It’s a fun device to use, and instantly watching TV episodes and movies looks great on the Vita screen," Brady Gunderson of Netflix said in a statement. "The app is available now for free download from the PlayStation Store."

The app will allow users to find movies by using the Vita's touchscreen or buttons. The navigation will be familiar to fans of using Netflix on the PlayStation 3 but it is tweaked and optimized for a smaller screen and to incorporate the PlayStation Vita's touchscreen abilities.
