Nevada State Legislators Set to Talk NFL Move in Special Session

Nevada state leaders will meet in a special session Monday morning to discuss the future of an NFL franchise in Las Vegas.

Gov. Brian Sandoval said that legislative leadership will deliberate the fiscal and safety impacts of housing a football organization among other topics during the meeting, which could end up checking off another box in the plan to oust the Raiders from Oakland and move them to the so-called entertainment capital of the world.

"Now is the time to capitalize on the opportunity before us to invest in Nevada's most foundational industry, tourism, by providing for the infrastructure and public safety needs of the 21st century," Sandoval said in statement.

Sandoval added that he will have to handle state education spending talks during the meeting while be boasts support for moving football talks forward.

A Nevada committee approved a $750 million public funding plan for a potential NFL stadium to be constructed in Las Vegas back in September.
