No Bagpipes, No Concert: Scots Guards Cancel San Jose Show

Weekend shows in Pleasanton still to go on following San Jose cancellation

No pipes and drums means no Scots Guards show in San Jose.

A noontime performance by the drumming-and-bagpiping Scots Guards planned for Thursday in San Jose had to be canceled after their instruments didn't show up on time, according to reports.

The San Jose Mercury News reported that the 1st Battalion pipes and drums Scots Guards were waiting for their instruments to arrive from London in time for the noontime show. That flight was delayed until Thursday afternoon.

That means no pipes at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez, but weekend performances at the 149th Scottish Highland Games at the Alameda County Fairgrounds should go on as planned, the newspaper reported.
