North Bay 13-Year-Old Shoots Self in Head, Survives

Tragic story for a North Bay family

A 13-year-old girl shot herself in the head with a revolver in a  suicide attempt Tuesday morning, a Sonoma County sheriff's lieutenant said.

Deputies went to an address on Soda Springs Road in Annapolis in  northwest Sonoma County around 8 a.m. in response to a suspicious  circumstances call, Lt. Steve Brown said.

While deputies were on the way to Soda Springs Road it was  reported that a 13-year-old girl shot herself in the head in an apparent  suicide attempt, Brown said.

The girl was flown to a hospital where she was put on life support  and was listed in critical condition, Brown said. Her name is not being  released because of her age.
