There is a disturbing case in the North Bay that has a little girl stabbing her attack and her family holding him down while police rush to their home.
Novato police said the crime happened Monday afternoon at a home on the 1600 block of Hill Road.
Inside the home around 2:45 p.m. police said a 13-year-old girl was forcibly raped by a 29-year-old man who also lives there.
The girl fought back and stabbed her attacker with a knife before calling for help from her family.
Police said the suspect, Luis Alberto Rodriguez-Gines, was being detained by family members when they arrived following a 911 call.
Sgt. Jennifer Dunlap of Novato police said the stab wound was minor and arrested Rodriguez-Gines at the home.
The girl was taken to a nearby hospital, but doctors found no obvious injuries, according to police.
Police booked Rodriguez-Gines in Marin County Jail and is being held without bail.
He faces charges of rape, unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, oral copulation and lewd acts with a child under 14.
