OPD: Police Tase Driver in Stolen Car

Oakland police ended up tasing a driver Thursday morning after they say he sped off in a stolen car and smashed into a garage of a storage facility.

About 3 a.m., the car smashed into a rolled-down garage door in the 2800 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way, veering inside and striking a parked car inside.

The driver tried to take off, although officers yelled at him to stop, police said. That's when police pulled out a Taser and fired the stun gun at him.

The driver was arrested and his injuries were not considered serious.
