There's no place like home for the A's.
And that means the Coliseum, nowhere else, with no other options, according to A's owner Lew Wolff.
Wolff, addressing the media at the Major League Baseball All-Star game - with MLB Commissioner Bud Selig in tow - stated that rumors of the team fleeing to Montreal or San Antonio if a lease extension at the O.co Coliseum wasn't signed are untrue.
But if the Oakland City Council can't agree on extending the A's lease? "If it isn't, it's my last [hurdle]," he told the Chronicle.
Building a new ballpark at the Coliseum site is possible, but the Coliseum site "is the only option," Wolff added, noting that the Howard Terminal waterfront option is not on the table.
Selig called the Montreal rumors false, and said that he and Wolff are focused on getting the Coliseum lease extension done -- and nothing else.
