Oakland Police Search for Gunman Near Kaiser

Officers searched the area and the hospital and found no signs of the man.

Oakland police officers were searching for a man reportedly armed with a handgun near Kaiser Permanente Friday morning, according to police reports.

A woman reported being followed by a man off of a bus at 9:37 a.m. who tried to start a conversation with her, according to the Oakland Police Department.

The woman told authorities that she brushed off the man's advances and he responded by raising her shirt and showing him a gun before walking towards Kaiser, according to the police.

Police responded to the area looking for the man but there were no signs that he entered the hospital, according to police reports.

Officers still entered the hospital as a precaution to search for the man but there were no evacuations.
