Oakland Raider Arrested in Tampa

Cornell Green, a tackle with the Oakland Raiders has been arrested in Tampa as he was trying to board a plane back to Oakland.

Tampa Police say that during a domestic dispute at Cornell's home in Tampa, the argument turned violent.  Cornell is accused of of slamming Ebony Flowers, the mother of his two children against the wall and hitting her with a mop handle.  Flowers has bruising and swelling to her arm.

Cornell left his home in his car before officers arrived.  During the investigation, police learned that Cornell had a flight booked out of the Tampa Airport to fly to Oakland.  He was arrested at the airport without incident and booked into jail on one count of aggravated battery.

The 32-year-old tackle was being held Sunday at the Hillsborough County jail on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Jail records did not show an attorney for Green. Message left at his agent's office and cell phone were not immediately returned.

Cornell has been with the Oakland Raiders since 2007.  He has spent 10 years playing in the NFL.
